Okay so. I don't really play videogames. I'm no good at them. That being said, I, like most kids belonging to my generation, owned at least one system at some point or another.
My mom and dad got me the NES when I was very young - and I grew up playing Mario Bros. and watching the cartoons. All my friends had SNES but we couldn't afford that one, but my grandparents had one... They let my little brother and I "borrow" it. For a very long time

Then, my little brother and I were very ill and my grandparents bought us an N64. We were so excited and it made things alot easier for us.
They gave us a few games too. We had Mario, Zelda, 007 and a couple more at that point. But my brother and I would play Mario Kart alot and we'd play it together - I was always Toad and he was always Yoshi

And to this day, Rainbow Road stands out to me. It was my favorite level; there was a very unique atmosphere - so ethereal. It was different than anything else. I loved the neon lights against the endless pitch-black void of a sky, with the contrast of the flamboyant lights of the track - and everytime I think of it all, I can't help but remember that song! If you've played it, you know what I'm talking about too
This was drawn with Copic Markers and Multiliners. The paper I used was too big for my little scanner so some got cut off, and the color is a bit different. I also meant to draw the star-rails that line the track, but it looked too crowded with them so I skipped the whole thing. This picture was drawn with the sole intentions of pacifying my nostalgic ambitions

Me and my brother would love to play this like there's no TOMORROW!!
Memories are great, huh?
Amazing job, and so nostalgic. It very much reminds me of something you'd see in Nintendo Power. Back when they still printed fanart, that is...
